Latest release of Acumatica Construction Edition adds functionality, efficiency for contractors

The Acumatica Cloud ERP Construction Edition has received a number of new features and improvements in 2019 R2, and contractors can expect increased project management functionality. Having best-in-class business and industry functionality is a core priority for Acumatica – and their latest release (2019 R2) brings significant advances across the product line. Acumatica 2019 R2 has now been released to the Acumatica community and it grants more than 100 community-driven advantages to the construction industry.

With the Acumatica 2019 R2 edition, contractors’ workflow can run much smoother. For example, when a subcontractor sends an email about a Project Issue, the Project Manager can create the issue right from the Acumatica Outlook Add-In where it then flows into Acumatica Construction Edition. Within Acumatica, the Project Manager can review the issue, determine the schedule and cost impact, and with the new Daily Field Report, track the subcontractor’s activity. With the new Change Request feature, the project issue converts to a change request and once approved, converted to a Change Order. This last step automatically pulls in the requested changes, which saves time from having to create the Change Order from scratch. In turn, the cost, revenue and commitment tabs are automatically populated, and the Change Order goes through the approval process. Once the Change Order is approved, the project is instantaneously updated. It’s really that simple!

There are various features of the Acumatica Cloud ERP Software, 2019 R2 version that have been improved, including the following:

Financials:Contractors can now use corporate credit cards on the Expense Claim and Expense Receipt forms which helps to categorise and track expenses.

Compliance: The new lien waiver capabilities, including warnings and stop payments, will help contractors avoid accidentally paying a vendor without release of the lien.

Construction Project Management: As highlighted in the above example, this will streamline the contractors’ workflow in a more efficient manner. From the detailed retainage tracking to daily field reports and change requests, functionality is added to the contractor’s projects.

Reports: More reports have been added for increased information. These reports include the Construction Bonding, Project Budget Forecast, Transaction History Reports, Project Cost Transaction History Report and Customer and Vendor Transaction History Reports.
